My Swimming Career

I started swimming on my 13th birthday in 2019; It was by accident, actually.  My mother said I needed to pick another activity since basketball season was over. My options were track and field, again, or swimming. Since we lived in El Paso, Texas, and the heat was unbearable the summer before, I picked swimming. Two months later, my family moved to Northern Virginia, where I immediately joined the Fairfax Foxes swim team and fell in love with the sport. Then, COVID occured. I hadn’t even trained for 6 months before the program was shut down. Restrictions were lifted approximately 2 months before my family had to move again. In that time of isolation, I realized just how much I missed being in the water, and I craved training with my team and competing in the sport again.

One year later, my family now resides in Cibolo, Texas and I have claimed a spot on the Steele High School Varsity Swim Team along with being a member of the Alamo Area Aquatics Association-Judson Metrocom Club Swim Team in the senior group. I attended the Texas A&M Aggie swim camp in June of 2022.
