My name is Madeline Roche, and I am a sophomore. I have loved the water ever since I was a little girl, and some of my earliest memories are happily jumping into the pool. I began doing summer swim at 8 years old, and the team spirit and camaraderie jumpstarted my passion for the sport. I began competitively swimming year-round at 9, and I immediately knew it was something I wanted to continue. The practices provide me with an outlet for my energy and give my life structure, while also allowing me to connect regularly with my teammates and coaches. I am a dedicated, hardworking person at all aspects of my life, and I take my athletics and academics very seriously. Swimming has taught me the valuable lesson that success takes time, and you have to work for it, which I think is most important. I always show up to practice, and I pride myself on not giving up. My favorite thing about swimming is it always gives me something to work for, and once I meet my goals, I set new ones. I want to continue this through college, which is why I would be honored to be a part of a college swim team.
