I have always wanted to push myself. Swim has taught me so much about never giving up and how there's always something I can work on. I carry that mindset with me everywhere I go. Whether it's in athletics, academics, or beyond, I'm always searching to see what I can do better. I enjoy gaining greater insight into how I can improve both myself and my world. In school, I enjoy taking difficult classes and learning as much as I can. I am an Editor-in-chief for my school newspaper. I am a member in my school's Model United Nations program, and I am assistant concertmaster in my school's chamber orchestra. I love working on swim both in and outside the pool. When I'm not training, I'm meditating, visualizing, or journaling. But in the end, I don't want to just improve myself; I want to help others, too. I want to be there for other people, whether it be in the newsroom, classroom, or the pool. I care for others, and I believe that is so critical especially in an individual sport. When a swimmer is up on the blocks, it can seem scary or lonely. That's why it's so crucial to showcase support for fellow teammates. That's what I bring to the team. I want everyone to succeed, and that is why I believe I am a great fit for college swimming.
