I came to swim as a way to relax and let off steam. Since starting my freshman year, I have found that being in the water has become my “zone”. I often go from being in a terrible mood to smiling until my cheeks hurt after being in the water. Often times, the more outside stressors I have, the more energy I put into to swim. I love swim for its competitive aspect, don’t get me wrong, but it most definitely is a stress reliever to me above all. Additionally, I love the team atmosphere, and cheering on my teammates has become one of my favorite parts of the sport. I would love to swim in college so I don’t have to stop experiencing this amazing sport and so I can continue to grow and learn from it.
