Michaela (Mickey) Baar '24 Recruiting Profile

I am a motivated, natural leader who is as diplomatic as I am competitive. I was voted as team captain for my varsity swim team. I’ve been swimming competitively since I was 10 years old, and started dancing competitively when I was 8. Just before my junior year, I had to make the difficult decision to step back from dance to focus solely on swimming and school. When I’m not swimming, you can still find me around the pool or lakes, as I lifeguard for a local park and instruct our developmental swimmers for my club.  I’m looking for a college or university that has an inclusive culture, with the programs of International Business or International Relations. The team I’m looking for is one where I can come in and grow my swimming and leadership skills even further. I’ll be leaving behind my siblings on the teams back home, so a feeling of family on the team I join would be imperative.
