My name is Kathrine Jensen and I am 18 years old and am looking to start my college career in the Fall of 2014. I was a homeschooled student and 2013 graduate of Visions in Education Charter School. I am 5’5” and I weigh approximately 125.
After I graduated from high school I took a post graduate year in order to improve my tennis while working part-time in order to help contribute to the schooling costs of my two older siblings.
Sports have always been a big part of my life skiing competitively until the high cost of the sport forced me to redirect my energies. My interest for tennis wasn’t sparked until the age of twelve. I thoroughly enjoyed the competitive atmosphere and the strategic element of the game and at the age of 14 began receiving proper training taking lessons at Gorin Tennis Academy in Granite Bay, Ca. (home of professionals Dimitry Tursunov and Jimmy Wang). Having watched my older sister ski and my brother play tennis for nationally ranked programs, I believe that playing sports is a huge part of the college experience and I want to be an integral part of the success of a competitive college tennis program with national tournament aspirations.
Academically, I am looking for a school with strong business and foreign language departments.
