Personal Statement
Hi my name is Malia Rose Fernandez. I have been playing tennis since I was 5 years old and started competing in tournaments at the age of 13. Although I started tournaments late, I have worked hard and shown resilience through every match that I have competed in. I’m a dedicated and disciplined athlete who believes in pushing myself to be better every day. The key factor that sets me apart is my perseverance. I’ve faced challenges, through injuries, balancing academics and athletics, competing in high-stress situations, and each time I’ve learned to push through and improve. These experiences have made me the athlete I am today and I am more than ready to push myself to compete at the collegiate level.
