My name is Kelsey Lajom, I currently just started my junior year at Murrieta Valley high school and I have a passion for tennis. Tennis has been the ultimate blessing in my life, opening numerous opportunities to achieve while creating life long friendships on and off the court. I love the fact that tennis can be played as an individual or team and can be played at any age level making it a life long sport. I have been extremely fortunate to be on a Varsity team since my freshman year that has been undefeated in the Southwestern League eight years in a row, has gone to the CIF Finals three years in a row and was ranked in the top 16 teams in state of California. I am an ultimate team player and a avid student of the game. Being named Southwestern League Doubles MVP is great example of my partner and I working as a cohesive and synergistic unit on the court working towards a common goal. I truly believe that champions are made when nobody is watching so practicing, setting goals, sharping my skills and learning from the coaches are some of my favorite aspects of tennis. Academics for me are paramount and as a three year scholar athlete, I focus everyday on keeping my grades at the highest level while maintaining balance in tennis, family and friends. Discipline, focus, goal setting, stepping outside my comfort zone and work ethics are the major ingredients in my training. I feel truly blessed to also have a wonderful support system behind me. My parents, brother, grandparents, coaches and relatives have been instrumental towards my love for the game and I look forward to continue making them proud. I am excited to play tennis at the next level and I promise to give my best to any school that gives me the opportunity.
