I will be turning 18 in December and am currently a senior at Piedmont High. Ever since I was little I've always been focused on sports in one way or another. I began skiing when I was 3, and in kindergarten I spent most of my free time on the monkey bars (!) and playing kick ball in the schoolyard. Ever since then I've played a variety of sports but my main focus has been on tennis and golf, which I love. I began playing both games when I was around 6. I played Varsity tennis my freshmen year. I was very excited to have made the team a week before the rest of the incoming freshmen and returning JV's who had tried out for the team. I played #1 doubles all season with my partner, a junior at the time, and only lost in our league finals to our own teammates (#2 and #3 singles), playing as a doubles team in the individuals draw. In my sophomore year I also played #1 doubles placing 4th in section with my senior partner (different from freshmen year). Junior year I pushed my way to #1 singles where I placed 2nd in league. I will be playing #1 again this year. For the past years that I've played on the team I've made first team all-league. I feel my skills as a tennis player are improving all the time and I continue to work hard because I always want to be better. I have a personal tennis instructor for weekly lessons and I usually hit with him on weekends to avoid conflicts with school or team practice. I’m very privileged to be the captain of a very enthusiastic group of my peer tennis players. At this point I think I'd prefer to attend a college that's medium sized not super big, but not too small. I'm really open to any school/program that will help me achieve my goals and get to where I want to be. I look forward to being in a program surrounded by people who share my passion for tennis. I'm still not set on a particular major, but I think some sort of management program would be a good choice for me because I'm a good problem solver, I'm good with people, and I'm very organized when I need to be. I've also always had a strong interest in art (particularly ceramics) and would like to pursue this in some way in the future. But whatever else I focus on in college, I very much want to continue to play sports. I feel it's what I was meant to do. I'm strong, athletic and tall (5'9. 5’’) and I push myself hard. I know I can be a great player. Thank you for visiting my profile.
