Emily Gould '12 Recruiting Profile

I am currently 5'4" and weigh 115 lbs. I feel that I am quick on the court and get to a lot of balls. I have been playing tennis for 11 years and still have a love for the game. Last year while I was on the varsity high school tennis team I received the awards of MVP and All-Empire in my area. Also this year I received the title of NBL singles champion. As well as playing on the high school team I go to my private coach four days a week in Fairfield, CA. I am currently ranked #39 in USTA Northern California section in G18s singles and #593 nationally. I play several tournaments a year, locally as well as other places across the United States. I feel that I set examples for my high school team because I am very dedicated to the game and am always striving to get better. Every time I practice I try my hardest in the hopes that it will help me get to the next level in my game. It has always been my dream to be able to play tennis at the collegiate level. The main place that I am looking to attend college is in Southern California, but I am also keeping an open mind and would be willing to consider somewhere out of state. I am interested in Southern California because I have always liked this area and have enjoyed areas with a lot of liveliness and outside activities that pique my interest. I don't mind what division level I play as long as I am able to play my first year in college. I have not made a decision as of yet about what my desired major would be, but I am sure that as I get closer to high school graduation I will have a better idea of which direction I will go. I feel that my number one priority in searching for a college is to attend a school that can offer me an exceptional education as well as allowing me to continue to play tennis at a high level.
