When I play in a tennis match, I've learned to not think of the match as a whole, but as winning a point, then a game, then a set, then the match. Breaking the competition up into smaller feats makes the match seem more achievable, and even if I don’t win all together, I’m still left with small victories I can be proud of. Taking lessons I’ve learned from the game and implementing them into other aspects of my life has been one of the most rewarding parts of playing tennis for me. Somewhere along the way over the past 8 years, tennis has turned from a fun weekend activity, to something that I can see myself being a part of at the collegiate level. This is what drives me to want to improve, and why I’m excited to be a part of a team in college. I know that I can be a beneficial addition to a team for both skill based, and mental reasoning, and will continue to work on my own game in preparation for the coming years.
