Emma Gredenhag: Hard Working Dual Citizen With a Passion For Tennis
With dedication and hard work I will represent the tennis team both on and off the courts. When starting high school I had a goal of playing on the junior varsity tennis team. By committing myself to rigorous daily practice, I made the varsity team. Exceeding my goal inspired me to set a new goal to play line one. Through an increase in practice, fitness improvement and weekend tournaments, I was proud to become the number one varsity player as a sophomore. This was also at a time when I swam on the varsity swim team, with swim practice in the mornings before school and tennis practice after school all while continuing to maintain honor roll. My focus on improving is a daily habit with academics as well. The summer of my sophomore year I took an intense history course so that I could double up on honors math courses during the academic year. My passion for tennis is so great that in my free time I volunteer-coach children and work at my local tennis club. I am different from other candidates because I still have the flexibility to adjust my skills and greatly advance my tennis game. Moreover, I am proven to be at a collegiate level having played in and won a match in an ITA tournament against a college player. Being a dual Swedish - American citizen, I bring diversity and an acceptance of other view points and appreciation for other ways of life. I am eager to be a supportive member of the team both as a singles and doubles player.
