Meet Monica Behrle!
I am a senior at East Paulding High School in Dallas, GA and have loved being a Lady Raider teammate and leader at line one singles since my freshman year. Outside of high school tennis, I play tournaments and work hard to develop my game through my coach and things that I do on my own. I love school and want to pursue a degree in Marketing: Sports and Entertainment - and play college tennis! My GPA is 3.6 and I’m in the top 22% of my class. Three years ago, along with a friend, came the successful launch of our neighborhood business that has generated income, while allowing me a schedule to continue my tennis training and tournaments. Now, I’m enjoying the last year of high school, learning as much as I can and continuing to strengthen my tennis game to get ready for college.
Things I would like you to know about me . . .
Being a good team player and supporting my teammates (win or lose) is important to me. I get along with all types of players.
I work hard in school and in tennis to improve my knowledge and skills.
I keep my on-court demeanor steady and neutral regardless of how the match is going.
Playing an all-court game using tennis fundamentals makes me a flexible player.
Tennis teaches me many life skills like decision-making, patience, focus, endurance, how to win and lose and many others.
The awards that I value the most are the Sportsmanship Award (GA State Closed, 2009) and the 2012 and 2013 Paulding County Player of the Year- Girls Tennis that I have received by vote of the coaches.
Playing tennis is fun and challenging!
My Tennis Game:
Since freshman year, I have played in the G18 draw in many high level USTA junior tournaments with a goal of strengthening my mental game and my tennis skills. It has been a good, but tough challenge facing older players at the top of their game. I learned a lot about what I need to become a successful player as I prepare for college tennis. My coach is working closely with me on adjustments to my strokes, serves and on-court strategy and I am integrating them into my game. My coach, Rohman Mitchell, is available for additional information and can be reached at 404-861-9692 or [email protected]. Also, please visit my profile on www.tennisrecruiting.net for more information and to view my match video highlights from Southern Closed this year. I hope to meet and see how I can fit into your roster in 2014!
