Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Alexandria Carbone-Larson! I am graduating in May 2019 and planning to start school in Fall 2020. I will be taking a gap year to continue to train at the Mouratoglou Academy in France and complete a full immersion French language course so that I can come back to study in France after I get my bachelor's degree in the US.
I have played tennis since the age of 9, and am looking forward to playing collegiate tennis. I attended Friendswood High School until the Spring semester of 2018, when I switched to Laurel Springs School so that I could attend the King Daddy (KD) Homeschool Tennis Academy in Houston, Texas. I train an average of 20 hours a week at the KD academy. I started training in France in July 2018 at the Mouratoglou Academy.
I am very passionate about playing tennis in both singles and doubles divisions! My greatest accomplishments in tennis are to have played at the SuperChamp level in Texas since the 12s division, representing Texas with my team at the 2013 Junior Team Tennis Intermediate Championship in Columbia, South Carolina, having won singles and doubles first place at both SuperChamp and Open tournaments, and finally, I am very proud to have won the April 2018 open mixed doubles draw at the Houston RBC Wealth Management Adult Major Zone along with one of my KD coaches, Sunday Jegede.
Along with playing tennis at a high level, I am also very proud of my academic achievements with a GPA of 3.6 while pursuing an educational plan that will prepare me for a STEM related field of study in college. I have been able to maintain these high-grades while training between 15 to 20 hours a week since my freshmen year of high school.
