Personal Statement
My name is Lara Sarkis, born in the United States but lived my entire life in Cairo, Egypt. As I grew up watching my grand father and father pIay tennis, I started playing the sport at the age of 3 with a growing passion and immense love for the sport on all levels. I am aspiring for high goals, to be playing tennis in a strong college team, where I can grow both as an athlete and a student. I believe I have the characteristics to make me a good fit for your team; I can balance my academic work as well as my athletics, I constantly strive to improve on all levels, I don't give up easily and I am very committed. Not only this, but I am quite engaged in community work, hoping to make a difference in my society.
Currently, on my first term in high school I can say that I am balancing both sports and academics very well. I have won a national U14 tournament in Barcelona (Club De Tennis Premia De Dalt), won an Egyptian Tennis Federation (ETF) U16 tournament in November 2024, attended several ITF junior tournaments and still managed a 3.8 GPA. I believe that I have the motivation, diligence and skills to make me a good candidate for your team because I am ready to work hard, sacrifice and accept any challenges that I am faced with.
