Personal Statement
Kiara Skye Mackay
Date of Birth: 17 OCT 2002
Nationality: South African
I grew up in Malawi and Mozambique. My parents lived and worked in these countries during my pre-primary and early school years. Living in these countries has given me an understanding of different people and their cultures and makes it easier for me to adapt to new situations.
We moved to South Africa when I was 9 for better education and sporting opportunities. I started playing tennis then and immediately fell in love with the sport, initially playing only at school and then with tennis development coaches. I have been with my current coach Mark Vorwerk since age 13 and have been playing School, Provincial, National and a few International (ITF) tournaments since then.

PERSONAL
I have a strong Christian faith. I attended African Bible College in Malawi and currently attend St Mary’s DSG which are both strong Christian based schools. I am currently a senior Christian leader at St Mary’s.
CAREER
I have a very keen interest in Forensics and Medicine. My aim would be to study forensics, medicine or criminology as I have always been amazed by the human body and the idea of discovering it so intensely is exciting to me. My ultimate goal would be to become a Forensic Pathologist.
