Personal Statement
Greetings,
I am Rajitha Rajesh, a 10th grader from R.N Podar - CBSE School, Mumbai, India. Tennis for me started when I was 5 years old. At first Tennis was meant for fitness and health. However as I grew up, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in tennis. The extremely satisfying sensation of hitting winner after winner made all the hardships that came with the professional career worth it.
I would describe myself as an aggressive Baseliner. However I realized at the beginning of my journey that tennis wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows, but I kept persevering. I am fortunate to have my family and coaches who supported me at every step of my journey. Tennis has tested my physical and mental capabilities on court to its limits. However, no matter how many difficulties I have faced in my career uptill now, I know that I wouldn’t change it for anything. Tennis has taught me valuable lessons which has made me understand and observe different perspectives for a particular situation. Though there is still a long way to go to achieve the zen mindset, I am very much committed to the process which will help me improve my physical and mental skill and potential on court.
My interest and calibre that has been developed by tennis has helped me achieve many things in my school life as well. I am fluent in English and Hindi. I am well versed in French and Japanese though I am not completely fluent in either of these languages. I have taken International Olympiad (SOF) in English, Maths and Science. Furthermore I have earned the Gold Medal in the International English Olympiad. In addition to that I have also attempted French language competitive exams FWP (French Word Power) and CRR (Concours Roman Roland) continuously over last 4 years.
I am hoping to pursue a career in Biology, Chemistry, Marine Biology in college. I know that I will be able to successfully balance my athletic and educational paths.
I hope that this has helped you get to know me better. I am looking forward to talking to you!
Hope to hear from you soon
Sincerely
Rajitha Rajesh
