Personal Statement
Winning two ITF singles and one doubles title last year has been the highlight of my tennis career so far. Having to flee my home in Ukraine due to war significantly impacted not only my tennis but also my personal life. I had to completely relaunch my training process, including finding a new coach. As a result, I had to struggle with a dip in my form and results. However, I managed to bounce back. Since relocating to Warsaw, I've continued putting in the work. This allowed me to reach my peak level as seen by my performance in international tournaments. I found my aggressive game style and developed strong skills such as serve and volley, slices, and attacking through my forehand. These elements made my game dominant, often posing challenges for opponents to adapt to. This experience taught me the importance of determination, passion, perseverance, and discipline not only on the court but in other aspects of life.
Tennis has been my passion and an integral part of my life since the age of 6. At the same time, I was always dedicated to academics, consistently striving for and achieving excellence in school. As I transition to college, I am looking for a school where I can play the highest possible level of tennis, while putting the best effort in my business studies. I want to be a part of a team that has a strong bond between athletes, has a supportive spirit, and is competitive. Throughout my life, I have been balancing the demands of tennis and academics, developing my time-management skills along the way. This has prepared me to thrive in a college environment where I must excel both on the court and in the classroom. I am confident in my ability to navigate a demanding schedule by committing fully to both competing and studying. In addition, I am always open to improving my game by learning from both my coach and teammates, as well as sharing the strong sides of my tennis with others.
