Personal Statement
Hi Coach! I'm a very ambitious, injury resistent, energetic and clever athlete who loves the mental side of the tennis game. I started playing tennis at the age of 5 years and two years later, I played my first tournament. Ever since then tennis plays a major role in my life and I can't imagine living without it, because I play tournaments or club team games nearly every weekend. That is because I am very passionated about the game. Due to my financial situation given (single mom & three siblings) it would have been way easier to give up playing tennis, but I always kept fighting and never gave up. For the fact that my mother couldn't afford hours of training with a coach or going to every tennis tournament I wanted to play, I was able to become a very good, ambitious and experienced tennis player and fighter. I'm thankful and open for every tip that I get from coaches, which makes me a coachable person.
I'm a very social and open team player who enjoys building up new friendships. With my 8 years of experience in playing for club teams, I learned to value teamwork .Even though I can easily match with other players, I play the best double with my twin sister Maria, who plays tennis on the same high level as I do. We've won several important matches in the past against higher ranked players, because we complete each other and we always know what the other twin is thinking or how she is going to move.
I haven't played any tennis in high school, because there is no high school sport on a comparable level to the US in Germany. For eight years I've played succesfully in club teams, and for the last four years always for the first womens's team, where I have won almost every match. For four times I’ve been the 2nd place of Berlin and Brandenburg, in Singles and with my team. My level of playing is higher than my ranking, because unfortunately I couldn't afford playing ITF tournaments for example and I am also really improving in the last time, so by summer '23 I'll play on a way higher level than my ranking is now. One of my biggest strengths is it, that I can win in close situations easily (I rarely lose tiebreaks for example) and I can stand pressure.
