Personal Statement
Since I was a little kid, I have always liked sports and competitions. During elementary school and the beginning of middle school, I was enrolled in more than three different extracurriculars and I just wanted the week to have more days so I could do more things. However, when I started playing tennis, it changed my life. I had finally found the activity that I could repeat for hours and never get tired of, the one thing that makes me feel the most alive. Therefore, I started training every day and playing tournaments. I am someone very coachable, disciplined, motivated and passionate about pushing myself every day to be better. These qualities allowed me to place in the top eight best players of my country in 16U and to compete in ITFs (there is not a 18U category in my country) while keeping a very high GPA. Moreover, even though I go to school in person, I have been able to keep my grades up when I miss class for weeks because of tournaments, and to obtain a sports scholarship for three years in a row.
Such experiences have made me grow as a person and taught me to organize my time efficiently, to be brave when I am alone, control my emotions, work with different people, and make new friends. I have been given a lot and I feel like the least thing I can do is to give it back, to give everything that is in me so I can leave the places I have been in a little better than they were before me. Consequently, I am eager to play college tennis and find the right match so I can keep improving and become my very best version.
