I started tennis as something fun to do with my dad. The more my dad and I would play the more my love for the sport grew. I decided to join my high school tennis team at 12, never missing practices unless I was sick, which wasn't often. At 12 I was number 4 for my team but was playing number 1 singles. I enjoy the sport and the community, so I'm always in a good mood when I play. I want other people to experience the joy I have for tennis so I try to always involve everyone and be a team player. I was the captain of my girls high school tennis team this year, I loved coordinating and getting to know everyone. I always try to stay positive on and off the court. I joined a program in my school called Early College. I am on the path to graduate with my associates degree the same time I graduate high school. It is an amazing opportunity and I'm very grateful to participate. I am a A, B student. I got my first B in high school when covid happened. It was tough learning from home but I was able to push through. I enjoy school and learning, I am always willing to learn something new. I have played sports my whole life. I did dance, soccer, basketball, gymnastics, and more. I consider myself very athletic, my height also gives me an advantage. I did not enjoy the contact sports and I knew tennis was the sport for me the second I picked up a racket. My dad has been my number one coach through it all. I have had many amazing coaches but my dad has always been my favorite. My dad learned tennis from his dad. Tennis runs in the family. I like to think that I don't give up in matches. During my 2021 tennis season at high school if I had to go to a tie breaker I did not lose it. I won every tie breaker during my season. My biggest advantage is my height. My height has helped me clock my serve in at 95 mile per hour, and my over heads the same. I am very comfortable at the net and approach it often. I hit a lot of top spin on my forehands and backhands. My favorite shot to hit is a forehand cross court. I believe my love for tennis will only grow and I will never stop playing and getting better.
