My name is Nicole Luna and am currently a Sophomore at Lake Orion High School. I am a graduate of 2022 school year. Some things that have influenced who I am is my family. My family has always been there to support me in both the good and bad times. They are the reason I have become interested in this competitive sport I’ve grown to love. My parents have pushed me to be athletic since a young age. I have played soccer, lacrosse and tennis throughout my life. Although I loved playing these sports tennis was different. Tennis gave me a chance to show others and myself the best of my abilities and be able to be competitive on the court. Tennis has taught me many important skills including resilience, leadership, sportsmanship, time management and commitment along with many others. One thing I am acknowledged for is my sportsmanship skills and mental strength on the court. One of my favorite quotes that inspires me is “I would prefer to lose with honor than to win by cheating.”
One important essence of me is that I make both tennis and academics a priority. I currently hold a GPA of 4.063 and would like to major in Business. My goal is to be able to compete for tennis at a college level that meets my academic goals as well. Despite the many challenges I will have to overcome to attain this goal I am excited for what the future holds.
“Success is a journey not a destination. The doing is usually more important than the outcome.” -Arthur Ashe
