Amari O’Brien '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi Coaches, I hope everything is well and I am very excited to be apart of your recruiting. A little about myself, I started playing tennis when I was seven and played my first tournament at the age of nine. I have loved it ever since. When I was in the 8th grade, I moved from Michigan to Maryland to play full time at a tennis academy called the Junior Tennis Champions Center (JTCC). It has given me experiences that I would never imagine would be possible. It has given me the opportunity to be around so many new kids, players, and coaches from all over the world. My collegiate goals and aspirations are to play college tennis and be a good asset to the team. My goal is to be in the line up for singles and doubles. While being an athlete at your college, my preferences for a major are Kinesiology and or Exercise Science. My personality and continuous drive to improve makes me a great candidate for your team. The love for a team dynamic is shown through my team spirit and positivity. My self motivation is displayed through the extra work I put in on and off the court. I enjoy pumping myself up and would do the same for my teammates. Additionally, I consider myself to be a leader and determined. If coaches need help, I can lead my team in a good and positive way. Athletics is a big aspect of my game and I love to workout. Putting that extra work to get stronger off the court to benefit me while on court is very crucial to me. Academics is very important to me as well and I work very hard for my good grades. I also competed my first year at Mount St. Mary’s. While I was being an athlete, I was able to maintain a 3.78 GPA.
