Hi! My name is Mya Nelson. I live in Nowthen, Minnesota and go to Elk River High School. I started playing tennis when I super little with just hitting around with my parents at courts near my house. When I was around 8 years old I started to do drills at Daytona Country Club in Minnesota and did some local tournaments. Since then I have gotten a lot more serious with my future for tennis. I do drills at RTC and on the rise. I also do mixers with the adults, UTR events, Ustas and different tennis tournaments in Minnesota.
I am a part of the Elk River Varsity Girls Tennis team since 2020. I started my 7th grade year playing 3rd doubles on Varsity. Then by my 8th grade year I earned my spot and moved up to mostly playing 3rd singles, but also playing some 2nd singles. That year as a team we made it to state and individually made it in doubles (placing 5th). As a 9th grader I had a record of 39-3, got 4th as a team at state, and tied for 5th in doubles at state.
I love to play the game and keep advancing my tennis game. I can't wait to what the future will bring throughout my tennis career. I'm hoping to play tennis in college and do big things some day! Thank you!
