Personal Statement

Hello! I'm Katherine and as a person I am very outgoing, forward-driven, and optimistic! I am very passionate about school and about my academics. I am within the top 2% of my class of 700 students and steadily maintained a 5.0 weighted GPA as a Junior in the International Baccalaureate Program. As far as clubs go, I am extremely involved in various clubs and organizations at my school (please see the Academics section of my profile for more details). I am very comfortable with the process of adjusting/adapting, as I have been subject to a lot of change throughout my life. I will always put all of my focus and effort into all projects, assignments, etc. The same applies for tennis as well.

As a player I am very motivated, determined, and willing to learn. I understand obstacles and the frustration that can arise  during matches, etc. and I chose to take the mental side of tennis very seriously to avoid emotional distractions.

Some things that I believe set me apart from other players are my positive mindset, diversity (variety), and being very open and honest.

On another note, I have participated in numerous team tournaments and they were always my favorite; I love spreading positive energy and maintaining a focused and energetic environment. Overall, I work very well with both coaches and players and will always try my hardest to perform to the best of my ability both on and off the court.
