Tara Buchney '13 Recruiting Profile

My name is Tara Buchney. I am a junior at West Morris Mendham High School, located in New Jersey. I am an extremely serious and organized well rounded student. I have learned to balance my advanced academic curriculum, extra curricular activities, and love and dedication for tennis. I absolutely love my school, friends, teammates, coaches, and teachers at Mendham High School. When I graduate in 2103, I hope to find a college that I can thoroughly enjoy as much as I do now. I have played as a starter for my high school team for both my freshman, sophomore, and junior years. I enjoy the thrill of competition, team building, and friendships that I have made over the two years. This past season, our varsity team won 1st place in counties and got to the state sectional finals. Besides my involvement on the high school tennis team, my true passion lies within the competition on the USTA junior tournaments. The level of play in these tournaments is extremely competitive. Being able to work towards USTA rankings, enables me to persevere that much harder. With the travelling involved in USTA tennis, I have learned to understand the importance of time and work management. I am currently ranked 80 in the eastern region.  I would love the opportunity to work and play for a college team that would benefit from my athletic talent, competitiveness, dedication, and fun personality. I would definitely want to be a strong asset to the team, as well as an individual that would represent the school to their highest standards.
