Over the past ten years I have found who I am and who I strive to be on a court where white lines connect and a net gently hangs in the middle. This court is a gathering spot for my whole family to play and support each other. It is where I have met friends that will last a life time and where I become acquainted with new people. There is a strong bond that develops over the deep love that we each have towards a game that heals us, strengthens us, and teaches us to live with passion. In this next chapter in my life, I want to keep improving as a student and an athlete. I have been first singles on the Ward Melville High School varsity team since ninth grade. Whether it is playing in the county tournament representing my school or traveling to USTA competitions on the weekends, I find that I learn something new each match.
From a very early age the importance of education was bestowed upon me. The more I learn about the world, I find it is never enough. My parents are my role models in all aspects of my life. I have grown up watching them care and help others by working in the medical field. They have inspired me to pursue a career in health care. In my spare time, one can find me reading. I am an avid reader of non-fiction and fiction novels. I have been known to finish ten books during a family vacation.
I have two younger sisters who mean the world to me. I want to be their role model, and help them face the challenges of growing up. Therefore, I would like to stay relatively close to home. I am confident that I will find a school where I can accomplish all of these goals.
