My name is Michelle Gray. I would love to play tennis collegiate tennis because I am a competitive individual who seeks challenges and I believe that playing at a collegiate level will give me great opportunities to compete and learn. I also believe that playing college tennis and being part of a team would be a truly enjoyable experience. My motivation to play tennis is my desire to be the best player that I can be, and my passion for the sport. On the court, I am a well composed player who always maintains a positive mindset, I do not let bad calls or mistakes get into my head. I have a lot of grit when playing tennis and will always try my hardest and play strong. In my sophomore year, I won the junior girls singles regional tournament, which also contributed to my school’s achievement of winning the tournament overall. My main goal is to be ranked in the top 20 nationally, and I believe that through sustained effort and a positive mentality, I will achieve this goal. I have faith that my strong will to work hard, my grit, and my effort will improve everyone who around me and will elevate any tennis team.
My GPA is currently 4.0 and I have worked and studied hard to achieve this average, all while balancing tennis and other hobbies. At university I plan on studying psychology or education. I want to attend a highly selective college that will maximize my opportunities both academically and physically. I also plan on taking the SAT/ACT tests in the spring of 2021.
