Hey, my name is Sara Samimi and I am in the class of 2022 at Haverford Senior High. I have to be honest, I haven't played tennis for long, nonetheless, I am just as experienced and tenacious as my teammates. I enjoy playing sports and being an active member of my community, but mostly I really love hitting around with close friends and teammates. Tennis is a huge part of who I am, as well as who I want to become, and I cannot see myself going to a college without it. I am not an athlete that gives up easily or lets the unavoidable prevent me from continuing my progress. During Covid I had the unthinkable happen. My mom was in need of multiple immediate surgeries, I needed to maintain my grades and extracurricular activities, and on top of all that, I needed to work harder on my one-handed-backhand. You may wonder why this is relevant and why you should recruit me? With all the obstacles in my way, I realized I needed to find a different angle. I balanced taking care of my mom, my academics, as well as my practices. I undertook my challenges and turned them into strengths on the court, and now that I am on the varsity team, I continue to strive for my goals and help lead those who face challenges too.
