For seven years I’ve been playing tennis, a sport that takes commitment, dedication and sacrifice and only a person that truly loves and enjoys this sport is able to learn and succeed over the years. As a tennis player, I’ve had good and bad experiences, but I’ve learned from those experiences in order to become a better athlete myself.
Although tennis is an individual sport, I’ve had the opportunity to represent my country as part of the Puerto Rican team. Throughout the years, I have participated in the Junior Fed Cup, Zonal and Intersectional tournaments. From these tournaments I’ve learned to be a great team player and have an excellent team spirit, which are qualities that would make me an excellent fit for your team. Also, I’ve been a three-time captain of my high school’s tennis team and that has taught me many leadership skills.
I look forward to being part of a program that will give me the right tools to excel as an athlete and would be a good fit for me academically as well. As a student-athlete I value academic and athletic experiences equally and I am a person with good character, good grades and have the talent to compete for your college team.
