Tennis started a little later for me than most of the people I have competed against. However, I work on my game very hard every day and it is beginning to show. In my first two years of high school I have played both number one and number two. My first cousin and teammate is my doubles partner and unfortunately we have lost to the eventual state champions in both our freshman and sophomore seasons. However, we have competed in a number of Tennessee tournaments and have won a handful of championships and have finished runner up numerous times. This past year I have won two singles tournaments and placed second in two others in Tennessee. It is my goal to lead my high school team to a VHSL state championship while also winning the singles and doubles title with my cousin my junior and senior year.
Attending an urban or suburban college is my preference as I have grown up in a rural area my whole life. While I have greatly enjoyed living in a small community as it has helped develop the values that are important to me but I feel it is essential to experience something different while obtaining my undergraduate. I am not too concerned with the size of the institution as I believe I can adapt to most any environment. Also, I am undecided about my major but I believe it will end up being in the field of medicine or pharmaceuticals requiring a post graduate degree.
In closing, there is continual improvements in my game that I would like to think has to do with my work ethic and my coaching. I truly believe that upon graduation of high school I will be prepared to make immediate contributions and I am also willing to accept whatever role that is most beneficial to the team. I love competing and I have a passion for working and improving my game. Thank you for your time.
