Hi my name is Madison Gerecke. I’m a junior at Douglas Freeman High School in Richmond, VA. This spring I will be playing my third year on my high school team, that has won 4 state titles in the past year.
When I am not playing for school, I play out of Westwood which is a club in Richmond Va. I play with Romain Ambert and David Reed.
I have been playing tennis for 9 years now and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon! I play 6-7 days a week while also conditioning to keep myself in good shape. I love being on a team and being able to compete. The 2 past summers my 18 and under team out of Westwood played in the Mid Atlantic Sectionals.
I have been playing tournaments for a while know and strive to get better. Last February, I was awarded and recognized at a Richmond Tennis Association event for being in top 100 in the Mid Atlantic and was given the Love of the Game award as well as getting the most improved player on my high school team. I wish to keep on playing tournaments and continuing to build my UTR and ranking.
Academics are very important, which is why the college/university I attend should have a good tennis program but also a good academic program. I am a great students athlete and hope to attend a good school that can offer me the most for both academic and athletic.
Thanks you- Madison Gerecke
