I am writing to express my deep interest in becoming a part of your esteemed tennis program. As a dedicated student-athlete, I believe that my collegiate goals, aspirations, and unique qualities make me an excellent candidate for your team.
First and foremost, my primary goal is to excel both academically and athletically during my college years. I understand the importance of striking a healthy balance between my studies and tennis commitments. With a strong work ethic and discipline, I am confident in my ability to manage my time effectively, ensuring that I perform at the highest level both on the court and in the classroom.
In terms of athletics, I have always loved sports, and have played soccer, softball, and basketball. My high school started a tennis program this spring and I decided to join since I enjoyed watching tennis on TV. I worked hard this spring on my skills and started as a number 5 seed and eventually earned a number 2 seed. This summer I have had the chance to train at Smith Stearns Tennis Academy in Hilton Head, SC, play in a league at Petersburg Country Club, and play in a USTA tournament in Raleigh, NC. I am very committed to tennis and play at least 5 times a week, including agility and leg strengthening training 4 times a week. I have dedicated countless hours to doing my skills, constantly seeking ways to improve my techinque, agility, and overall performance. I have competed in tournaments, which have not only sharpened my competitive edge but also taught me the value of teamwork, perservance, and sportsmanship. I believe that these qualities are essential for success both on and off the court.
What sets me apart from other recruits is not only my commitment to tennis but also my character. Integrity, leadership, and resilience are the core values that define me as a person. I approach challenges with a positive mindset, understanding that setbacks are opportunities for growth. I am a team player who values open communication and collaboration, always striving to uplift my teammates and create a supportive environment. Furthermore, my strong work ethic and determination have allowed me to overcome obstacles and achieve my goals, both in tennis and academics.
Speaking of academics, I recognize the importance of achieving excellence in the classroom. I have consistently maintained a strong GPA throughout my high school years, demonstrating my ability handle the demands of rigorous coursework. I am eager to pursue my degree an believe that the combination of academic and athletic pursuits will provide me with a well-rounded college experience.
Thank you for reading my personal statement. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss my potential contribution to the team further. Please feel free to reach out to me if you require any additional information or would like to arrange a meeting or visit.
Sincerely,
Alaina Roberts
