Personal Statement

My collegiate goals include successfully completing at least four years of college while playing on that college’s varsity women’s tennis team for all the years I attend the college. I am a good candidate for the tennis team because I take my tennis very seriously. I started playing tennis when I was 11 years of age, and in the last three years have progressed enough to have been the Number One Varsity Singles player on the girl’s tennis team at my high school and achieve a rank in the top 20 in USTA girl’s tennis in my district. I believe that if I continue to advance at this rate, I will be a very valuable college tennis player.
Furthermore, I take my academics very seriously as well. At this point, I am a senior at the age of 16 years old, and am currently enrolled in three college-level (Advanced Placement/AP) courses; by the time I graduate high school, I plan to have taken at least 10 such courses. Unlike many people, I enjoy complex problem and mathematical equation solving as well as theoretical work in science classes. I would like to study some field of engineering, most likely software engineering, as I enjoy working in groups/teams, and simply because the field is interesting to me.
As for the kind of person I am, I am very persistent, dedicated, and hardworking – if a job needs doing, I will sit down and do it, no matter how long it takes me. I also enjoy participating in out of school and off-court activities. I’ve volunteered at the Wisconsin Humane society for two years, and have received a second place in a spelling bee. I have also successfully completed 4 years of an outside math program, and am an American Red Cross certified swimmer. Overall, I believe that I am a good candidate for a college tennis team.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
