Track and field since seventh grade and I have never once grown tired of it. All this time and it is still my favorite time of the year. I started out only knowing that I love running and had no idea that I would find my passion in running hurdles and jumping pole-vault. The first time I ran the 300-meter hurdles my heart caught on fire and it's been burning ever since. Pole vault came later in my career but I still lay awake at night dreaming of clearing that next height. Making it to state for my two favorite events was that dream come true and I hope to keep making it to state each year. Being in track and field isn't just about running and jumping though, it's also about being a part of my favorite team. I love running relays with my teammates and cheering them on at their events. My coach knows that she can always count on me to try new things and take over positions that someone else couldn't fill. She also knows that she can rely on me to keep my academics up even during the season. I am ranked #1 in my class of 2025 and my classmates know that they can always rely on me for my help when they get behind or are stuck on an assignment. Being good at something isn't about being above everyone else, It's about being able to push your classmates and teammates to be their very best and cheer them on.
