I've been running since I was 11 years old, and ever since then I have been inspired and motivated to continue my running at the college level. I know running at the college level is a once in a lifetime opportunity that can challenge one's strength and abilities greatly. It is an opportunity that can turn one's life around for the better.
A few of my strengths in running include a quick start off the starting line and fast kick when approaching the last 50 meters of every race.
I train harder with each new year and lead my team by being an example, motivating them every step of the way. I consider myself determined, coachable, and easy going. Having a never give up attitude is also important to me, as I strive to always give 100% on and off the track field.
In the classroom maintaining a high GPA is and will continue to be one of my main priorities.
I have been volunteering consistently at my church for the last 4 years in the kid’s ministry as well as in our youth group. Volunteering to me is an important way to give back to my community. I am also part of several clubs at my high school, like Ecos Chico’s, Leadership club, What’s Mine is Yours, and I volunteer with our school blood drive.
Being able to attend a college that will help me pursue my career as well as my running is something I am excited for! I am open to colleges that best fit me and that will best benefit me and my family. I hope to continue to be an example to my friends, family, and my coaches. I hope to make everyone proud of me in this upcoming chapter of my life!
