I am currently a Unattached College sophomore. I am attending San Diego Mesa College academically. I plan to compete this 2025 season to raise my marks from my last season. I will be competing as an unattached athlete for the 2025 season. I plan on transferring after this season and continuing to pursue my athletics and academics at a University.
Throughout my life, I was raised to be a fighter for the things I truly feel passionate about. Many times I have dealt with people who have put me down for my ethnicity, my looks, and for the person I am. I truly give my all to what I love. Competing at the collegiate level has always been a dream of mine since sixth grade. I constantly strive to be better and truly grow even when it is difficult. I lost my house in a fire in the year of 2023. I lost everything in the fire and truly only had the clothes on my back. I truly could have given up on athletics because this tragic event happened at the beginning of my freshman year of community college. Except, I grew from the experience because I learned that even when you hit rock bottom you can always build yourself up. I truly had the choice to either let this decision define me for the rest of my life or use this event as fuel to define myself my way. I used my fighting spirit to prosper during my first collegiate year. I hit the state B marks in the discus throw and transitioned into the rotational throw for the shotput. I discovered that I work harder when the odds are stacked against me because I am aware that I can accomplish anything if I truly am dedicated physically, mentally, and emotionally. Throughout my life as an athlete, I have encountered many coaches who have doubted me and truly tried to crush my spirit. Saying I won't achieve my goals and that I don't have what it takes. Except, these words simply fuel my dedication and discipline. Although, I have struggled throughout my life. I have never felt so much confidence in myself as a human being and as an athlete. I have never had the choice to fail because I pushed myself to stand up and roll with the punches. I will continue to grow and strive for more out of myself throughout my life and as an athlete. I truly want to continue my athletics after the 2025 season.
