I tried out for track as a freshman in high school, initially not making the Junior Varsity team, but the jumps coach saw that I had potential to be greater. My strength and speed contribute greatly to my jumps and my fast start off the blocks are a strong factor in my running events.
In the classroom, I have been able to maintain a weighted 4.0 GPA, showing my capabilities of balancing track, various honors and AP classes, and my duties of being a part of our student leadership program during my sophomore and junior years. Along with the desire to continue pursuing my career in track, I would like to study in a college as a biology major, leading me down the pathway to become a veterinarian.
Through my coaches, I have been able to develop into a well-rounded athlete, understanding the responsibilities that I have as an upcoming senior Varsity athlete. I strive to lead by example for my teammates, always maintaining my strong work ethic in the classroom and on the track.
