Ava Carter '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Ava Carter and I have a passion for short and long sprints! My goal is to run track at the Division I collegiate level for a college that offers equally challenging academics. I am currently a senior (class of 2024) at San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara, California and am undefeated in Channel League for the 100 meters, 200 meters and 400 meters for my freshman and sophomore seasons. During my most recent 2023 outdoor season I am proud to have medaled in the 100m and 4x400m races at D2 CIF Southern Section Finals (an extremely competitive CIF division), broken 2 school records in the 100m and 200m, and competed at New Balance Nationals in 2 events. For 2022, I hold the season Channel League records in 5 events. I was also a D2 CIF Southern Section Finalist in the 200 meters and 4 x 400 meters.

Off the track, I am equally competitive, dedicated, and pride myself in excelling academically. I have a challenging AP course load, participate in San Marcos High School’s Accelerated Academic Program for Leadership and Enrichment Academy and hold a part-time job. I am a very curious person, always excited about new adventures so being lucky enough to compete for an elite track team (both outdoor and indoor) while traveling around the U.S. and receiving an excellent education would be my biggest dream!
