Participating in sports while growing up has shaped my life and taught me many valuable lessons along the way.  The keys for me are a strong sense of teamwork and the ability to keep at something, even when it gets tough.  I feel I can make a good contribution to a college track team both personally and by building up my teammates. 

Always trying to improve is my number #1 goal going into every race.  I've participated in competitive sports since I was 5 years old, but starting running track in elementary school.  I starting running hurdles when I was in 6th grade and joined a track club in 7th grade.  I found that I really enjoy and have a talent for hurdling that has since been developed further with hard work with my club and school coaches.  I apply this same focus and work ethic to my academics and am seeing similar success there with a 4.62 GPA weighted with multiple AP classes.
