Personal Statement

Determination along with consecutive persistence are the two major characteristics I strongly believe I embody. I've been able to exemplify them both academically and athletically. Upon demonstrating my skills, I've encountered numerous obstacles, however, by pushing myself I was able to surpass them. For instance, I tend to work, tremendously in order to earn something rather than getting it handed to me. Through elementary school, middle school, and high school I've continuously challenged myself by taking difficult classes, putting massive effort into my school work, achieving many awards for my excellence, and being a scholar athlete. I'm an eager learner and am full of curiosity meaning I'm always excited to learn new concepts or work hard in improving my current skills in any way possible. I am aware the world is full or limits and constant fear, however, I use fear to propel me over my limits. This can be seen when I race. I've been nicknamed "bulldog/demon face" for a significant reason; I use my goals, fear, emotion, weaknesses, and strengths to motivate me through each race resulting in my unique facial expression. Once racing, there are no limits for me since I utilize my aggression and make the race my opponent. With each race I have ran, I set a goal which mentally prepares me to excel what some may think is impossible. Just like school, where I put in momentous effort, I take each practice seriously and practice my weaknesses in order to understand myself better. I am willing to face any challenge given with the acceptance of some failures or mistakes since I strongly know that they lead me a step closer in improving my skills and individual self. With each obstacle I face, I carry this mentality.
