I have been running since 4th grade when I was part of a club team, Santa Rosa Express. I qualified for the Junior Olympic National Competition my first year & again in 7th grade. That year I went to Alabaama & competed in the Midget race. Since starting High School, I have run both cross country and track. Freshman and sophomore year, I won my league championship in cross country. Sophomore year, I placed 3rd at NCS, and went to CIF California State Cross Country Championship. Junior year, I won my league for the third year in a row, placed 4th at NCS, and then went on to place 19th in Divison 2 at the CIF State Championships. In track, as a freshman, I placed second in the mile and the two mile, and went on to the Meet of Champions at UC Berkley In sophomore year, I won the mile and two mile for my league, and again went to UC Berkley for the NCS Meet of Champions in both events. .
But medals and achievements aren't all of it. I hold a 4.4 GPA, and after every race, I turn around and congratulate every girl I ran against. It doesn't matter who beat whom; if sportsmanship is there, then it is important.
I have dreamed of running in the Olympics since 4th grade. I want to further my abilities as a runner at a college that will be willing to help me. My dreams are large, but if I am given an opportunity, I will use all the knowledge and advice my coaches will give me to do my best.
I am ready to extend to the college level.
