Growing up, I was exposed to the athletic world almost immediately. Coming from a family of constant competition and energy, sports has been a key aspect in my life and the idea of ambition was instantly drilled into my mind. From the age of five, when I was introduced to soccer, I quickly fell in love with it and from there, I found track which became a thriving passion of mine. With sports being a vital feature of my character, it turned into much more than extracurricular for me. Daily training and nightly practices became an outlet for me. It became a source in which I can relieve stress and form goals and aspirations, which I recently began to own as my reality. However, it wasn’t just the sport I fell in love with; it was the teamwork, the energy, the competition, and the persistence I had gained to get better.
Throughout my childhood, the idea of hard work and drive was applied to everything I did, whether it was in the classroom, on the soccer field, on the track, or in my personal life. I began to see everything with a lens of determination. Determination to be the smartest, the kindest, the fastest, and the best. While competitiveness is an enduring trait of mine and athleticism will always be a key aspect of my character, there is much more to me than what is seen on the field. As a student, the fundamentals applied to my sports life directly correlate to how I manage my education, as well as how I benefit my community. Being very involved with my extracurriculars such as the clubs and the community service that I prioritize, I have learned that just being an athlete doesn’t shape who I am, that I have so much to offer in every setting of my life. With that being said, I have created many goals for myself growing up, in school and in sports, so as I transition into these important stages of my athletic and academic career, my goal is to run at a high level and benefit an amazing new team with my skillset and virtues. I aspire to continue learning and growing my abilities as an athlete and share my talents, as I continue into the next stage in my life.
