My name is Layla, and I run for Monarch High School. I run the two-mile and 800, but primarily the mile. I'm one for competition and am driven and passionate about reaching my goals. I will always put 100% of my effort into whatever mentally or physically difficult activity I'm partaking in. I push myself in school and strive to keep my grades high. I also carry that attitude over to running. My mindset has always been that you will get what you put in, so I always put whatever I have into my running. I try to master mental strength, which transfers to physical strength. Although I love the mental test, my favorite part of participating in track is the team aspect. I love creating strong bonds with my teammates, and cheering and encouraging them throughout races and workouts. I know how important it is to have those supportive and enthusiastic friendships, those friends who are good role models who show commitment and support, and I want to be that teammate wherever I embark on my college journey. My goal is to get recruited to run track and field in college. I promise I will be a positive, and encouraging teammate, and most importantly put 100% effort into my running.
