Hello my name is Jordan, I'm from Wheat Ridge Colorado and I was team captain of my schools varsity Track and Field team as well as apart of the varsity Cross Country team and the softball teams. I loved competing in Track, my main event was the hurdles at first but than it became the 200 meter dash. I enjoyed doing the hurdles because they're harder then they look which means I had to work harder to do them right. Sports are an outlet for me to find myself and to let go of things forcing me down, but I also love sports because of the connections I build. By the end of the day no matter what score or place I get it's being with my team that makes it worth it. I hope to continue to work hard so that I can continue to run in college where I will study child development and early elementary education with the intent of becoming an elementary school teacher. I want to become a teacher because when I was in elementary school I was told I wouldn't make it by multiple teachers, and all because I had epilepsy. Despite being told no and pushed around I worked hard and overcame the challenges I faced, and even used their negative comments to fuel my desire on the field and track. I want all who I work with to feel appreciated and to know that they can do something even if they may be "different".
