The best thing that occurred so far in my high school career was breaking the 4x1 record as a freshman. I went into track just looking to stay in shape but the first real meet when I laced up my spikes and got to competitively sprinting, I fell in love. From freshman year to now I have grown as a person and a athlete. With all the training I do year round I also balance soccer, homework, and a job. Being apart of so many things has led me to better time management and better stress management. My goal is to captain my team this upcoming year, my junior year, and hopefully get more girls to fall in love with track the way I did.
I not only thrive off of the determination I have to be the best I can in sports but, it also travels into school work. I am able to hold a great GPA during season, while taking some pretty difficult classes. Lastly, the biggest character growth I have had to go through was with my family. During spring break of my freshman year my brother had a seizure while at college, due to drug abuse. He struggled for a long time with an addiction to drugs. It was a very hard time for me to watch him go through it. He was never given the chances I was, growing up with high functioning autism, so if there's anyone I want to make proud, it's him. He has been one of my biggest supporters throughout my high school career, I hope to one day see him in the stands at my college meets.
