Emery Janicki '24 Recruiting Profile

Hey!!

I'm Emery Janicki, a junior from Bunnell High School, Stratford CT. This is my third year in outdoor track and my first year doing indoor track. I focus of running events and field events. The main two events I focus on are pole vault and hurdles. My goals for this seasons is to run a 17.8 sec in 100hh and jump 7'6 ft in pole vault. This year I want to do the best my ability and be successful. 

Before I did track and field I was a competitive dancer. In dance I won many scholarships, first places, and more. I have done dance for about 12 years and enjoyed it, but I wanted a change in my life and wanted to do something else. I found track and field. I found it to be more exciting and mrore fun. I really fell in love with track and field and that's when I knew I had to do it. 

I also do well when I'm not on the track. I'm in all honors classes and APs. I've been in the honor roll for many years in a row, apart of many honor society, have a 4.0 GPA and is in the top 20 of my class. I have received a kindness scholarship as well. I'm also apart of many extracurriculars like unified sports, link crew, etc. 

In college I would love to do track and field. I find it so cool and get inspired by all of the college athletes that do track and field and makes me want to be like them. Right now I want to major in biology and I plan on going to med school after college.
