Julianna Bellagamba '24 Recruiting Profile

My Name is Julianna (Jules) Bellagamba and I am a junior at Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury CT. I run cross country and distance track. I started to become more serious about running after my freshman year of track. It was my first experience with track as I came from a smaller middle school that did not offer it. I trained all summer and saw the improvement in my fall cross country times. Then I trained with a running coach during the winter and returned my sophomore year of track as one of the league's top runners. This training has really pushed me to achieve higher goals that initially I did not think was possible. I am looking forward to seeing my continued improvement this spring on the track. 

I love being a part and competing in the running community. I grew up playing soccer and although the competitiveness was always there, I felt something was missing. There is a strong support system amongst runners. I love that we all cheer each other on and that helps push me each and every time to keep reaching farther. 

Being a captain for cross country (and upcoming captain for spring track) has taught me to be a better leader, teammate and friend. I also consider myself a leader outside of running. I write for the school paper, member of the National Honor Society as well as my schools Athlete's Leadership Council Board. I consider myself very hardworking and love to challenge myself with honors and AP classes. I am looking for a college where I can not only continue my running journey but also study my other passion, Veterinary Medicine. Since my high school is an agricultural school, I have a work/school program where I have a job at a farm as well as volunteer at an animal shelter. I always try and strive for excellence in everything I do and continually push myself to get better results. Thank you for considering me for you team.
