My name is Ana Cecilia Rivera. I’m from Guatemala, but my passion for athletics led me to be recruited in my sophmore year to IMG Academy in Florida.
After 7 years of playing soccer competitively, I began track and field, which has been my passion for the last 4 years. Within the first year, I qualified for the national team in Guatemala, through which I was able to become the best version of myself, not only on the field but also in other areas of my life. It was the driving factor behind my decision to move to a new boarding school in a new country, where I had to be ready to push myself and stay focused on my goals. Training has given me discipline also in the classroom and this has allowed me to have a 4.20 GPA, take multiple AP and honors classes, participate in MUN, become a student ambassador, and be in NHS. Last year I finished my junior season with many improvements in both the jumps and sprints. Coming back from a strong preseason and going into my senior season, I am ready to face new challenges and PR in both my jumps and sprints.
I look forward to being able to continue my education at a college level in an institution that challenges me both academically and athletically.
