As a driven and dedicated student-athlete, I thrive on balancing the demands of high-level competition with a rigorous academic schedule. My resilience has been tested through challenges both on and off the field such as injuries and health issues, yet I remain committed to pushing past obstacles and finding new ways to improve. In track and field, I’ve consistently pushed my limits, for example, learning the art of hurdling and placing State Runner Up in my first year of the event. Additionally, I have experience of being captain for 2 years. My coachability and work ethic allow me to embrace feedback, constantly refining my skills.
In the classroom, I apply the same discipline that I bring to training. Maintaining a 4.71 GPA while excelling in my athletic commitments has taught me valuable time-management skills and the importance of perseverance. I am passionate about continuing my academic journey, and I’m eager to explore how my studies of medicine can complement my growth as an athlete. Looking ahead, I aim to leverage these experiences to not only succeed at the collegiate level but to inspire others with the same tenacity and passion that drive me in my professional running and medical careers.
